Landlord Representation
Landlord representation in commercial real estate refers to the role played by a real estate agent or broker who acts as an advocate for the owner of a commercial property (the landlord) in leasing transactions. The primary responsibility of the landlord representative is to help the landlord find and secure tenants for their property and to negotiate favorable terms for the landlord in lease agreements. This can include identifying potential tenants, advertising the property, conducting property tours, and negotiating rent and other terms of the lease agreement, such as length of the lease, maintenance responsibilities, and renewal options. The landlord representative also helps the landlord comply with all applicable laws and regulations and ensures that the lease agreement is in line with the landlord’s objectives and interests.
